Raquel and Michael 9-13-09

Raquel and Michael had their ceremony and reception at Crystal Gardens in Southgate. Raquel and Michael had all their loved ones at their ceremony. In fact all the seats were taken. Guests were also standing in the back and even pouring out the doors! As you walked into the reception room you were greeted by a great picture of the couple. I loved the canvas that Raquel and Michael had with their engagement photo!
Raquel and Michael had very yummy favors. They were pretzel rods dipped in chocolate. Raquel’s Aunt made them and they were delicious!

There were several different centerpieces. There were tall white lilies, candles floating in red water, white hydrangeas and tall red carnations for their parent’s tables. Flowers were provided by Cleverbumble Bee Creations. Chair covers were provided by Stephanie’s Wedding Creations. I will say that the chair covers really pulled the room together. Unfortunately Stephanie didn’t receive mine nor Raquel’s messages stating that we needed 75 more chair covers so the back of the room was without chair covers

Their wedding cake was perfect! I loved all the detail especially the flowers on top. You can’t tell from looking at it but the bottom layer of the cake was actually fake! Sheet cakes were used also. This is a great way to save money. The cake was from
Iversen’s Bakery.

Raquel and Michael also had a sweet table. Their guest’s loved the cookies!

Music was provided by Julia Locklear. She did a great job! Photographer was provided by Kahn Santori Photography. They were shooting all night long. I am sure they got some fabulous shoots!

Congratulations Raquel and Michael!

Katie and Dan 9-5-09

Katie and Dan’s ceremony was held at the Concorde Inn located in Clinton Township. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful! I loved how although the ceremony was indoors you felt as if you were outside. I highly recommend the Concorde Inn for a beautiful and unique ceremony site.

Their reception was at the Partridge Creek Banquet also located in Clinton Township. I loved Katie and Dan’s favors/escort cards. Who doesn’t like a bottle of wine! Their reception was perfect. I loved all of Katie’s DIY projects from the table numbers to the menus everything looked wonderful.

The flowers were provided by
Courtyard Flowers. Katie’s bouquet was gorgeous and I am very excited to create a painting for her. Photography was provided by Aava Photography. I am sure their pictures will be great. Their photographer didn’t miss a beat.

One of my favorite things from Katie and Dan’s wedding was their cake. Their cake was stunning. I loved the ribbon and brooch. The cake was from
Chef Leslie. And of course it tasted delicious!

Music was provided by Rent-A-DJ. Kelly was amazing. She kept the dance floor packed all night long. If you are looking for a great DJ than Kelly is your girl!

Katie and Dan also had a photo booth. Rock the Booth was great to work with! If you are considering a photo booth I highly recommend

Michelle and Jason 8-30-09

Michelle and Jason were a great couple to work with! Michelle did a ton of DIY projects and I have to say that none of her projects looked DIY, they all looked professionally done!

Their ceremony was at Belle Isle. The rain stopped just before the ceremony and the sun even made a brief appearance during the ceremony. Michelle looked amazing! I loved how her dress was blowing in the wind. I also loved the umbrellas that Michelle had. It was such great idea. The bucket said, "For rain or shine".

Their reception was at The Gazebo Banquet Center in Warren. All of Michelle’s projects really pulled the room together. I loved everything about their reception. You really saw Jason's and Michelle’s personality in the décor. Not only did they have a candy buffet they also have a caricature artist which was a hit. The guest loved it! There was a line during the entire reception.
Michelle and Jason decided to skip the traditional wedding cake. They had cupcakes provided by Baking by Jen. I loved the cake topper! Jen said that she charges for onlthe ingredients only. She also said you could get a wedding cake for as low as $50. I did try the cupcakes and they were very tasty. This would be a great option for the budget bride.

Photography was provided by J Leigh Photography. I am anxious to see the professional pictures! J Leigh Photography has wedding package starting at just $450!

Congratulations Michelle and Jason! Thank you for letting me part of your special day.

Jennifer and Chris 8-29-09

Jenny and Chris were married in Las Vegas a couple of weeks before their reception. Their reception was at Villa Penna in Sterling Heights. The staff at Villa Penna was wonderful to work with and the food was wonderful! The guest favors were a very cute set of tea cups. I love favors that the guests can use for years to come.

Jenny and Chris had a live band, The Coachmen which the guests really enjoyed.
Linens were provided by the always amazing Fabulous Events. Floral alternating arrangements were provided by the equally amazing Viviano’s. The room looked beautiful.
The cake was made by Rosemary Miller and really captured the look of their wedding.
Photography was provided by Modern Photoglyphs. Harold is an amazing photographer! He is not only extremely talented he is one of the nicest people I have ever met. By the time I got home from the wedding Harold sent over these preview pictures.

Congratulations Jenny and Chris your wedding was beautiful!

It defiantly made her feel like a princess. Although it was one of the hottest days this summer so far the guests didn’t seem to mind.
Ashley and Brian’s reception tent turned out great! Linens and chair covers were provided by Candlelight Expressions.
The cake was absolutely amazing! Ashley’s cake topper was actually her mother’s cake topper. It was so sweet of Ashley to use her mother’s cake topper. Yes the cake was beautiful but more importantly it tasted unbelievable! It was defiantly one of the best cakes I have had! There cake was provided by Naomi Batterbee, who is a baker at Eagle Eye in Flint. She can be reached at naomibatterbee@hawkhollow.com.

Shawn Cox from Awesome Entertainment was well…awesome! He did such a great job. The dance floor was packed until the very end. He played every request from rap to oldies. He really knows how to please a crowd. Shawn can be reached at 1COOLDJ@GMAIL.COM.

Dress Codes, Weddings and YOU!

The rules are this:

* If you're a guest, and you're invited to a wedding in the middle of the day, men should wear business suits, dark in winter, light in summer. The women should wear beautiful suits or dresses, cut to the knee or below, with very little glitz. If the wedding is held in temple or church, the attire should not be flashy or provocative.

* If a formal or semi-formal reception is held hours after the wedding ceremony ends, in the evening, for example, guests (if able) are required to change into flashier evening attire, which may include cocktail or long dresses for women and tuxes and business suits for men, respectively.

* If invited to a semi-formal evening affair, men wear business suits; women short or mid-calf cocktail dresses, dressy pants' attire, etc.

* Formal weddings, held in the evening, are a different story. These "black tie" affairs require guests to come formally dressed. Women wear fancy long, or short, or mid-calf gowns. Men wear tuxes, no exceptions (they may also wear white dinner jackets in summer of tropical climates)!

These rules also hold true for the family members of the bride and groom!

Moral of the Story: When it comes to a wedding, dress appropriately and make everyone proud of you.

Happy Wedding Planning!
