Sandy and Tim 7-25-14

There is only one thing that can make coordinating a wedding and doing floral design even better than it already is....and that is working for a friend! Now since Sandy (a.k.a The Camera Chick) already wrote a fabulous blog about her wedding I will provided the link and just a few pictures of the floral work Grand Jour Events did.

Congrats Sandy and Tim!!!

Emily and Andrew 7-19-14

I coordinated Emily’s cousin’s wedding a few years ago and loved every second of working with the family. When I was contacted to be the DOC for Emily’s wedding I was beyond excited! Emily and Andy had a fabulous wedding!

Their ceremony was at Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church and their reception was at Lyon Oaks in South Lyon.

The flowers were by The vines flower and garden shop
The guest favors were playing cards, how fun!

The room all set up. Chair covers from Sposa Seating.

The cake was from Buttercream Bakeshop. Their cakes are always really good!

Here is a sneak peak from their wonderful photographer.

Congrats Emily and Andy!

Alyssa and Michael 6-28-14

Aly and Michael were another out of state couple who I didn’t meet until the day before the wedding. I was actually first contacted by Michael’s mom and then only e-mailed the bride.

Aly and Michael had a lovely wedding at Waterview Lofts at Port Detroit. The ceremony was downstairs, cocktail hour outside and the reception upstairs. This was my first time working at this venue and I think I feel it love. I love the view!

Aly’s wedding defiantly was not smooth sailing the day of. We are all at the venue the day before for rehearsal at there was not any construction…..but they next day the lodge was backed up for about one hour! I was sitting in traffic just looking at the hotel. There was nothing I could do so while I was stuck in the worst traffic jam ever I called all the other vendors and let them know to leave early and take an alternate route. Thankfully they all listened : ) Unfortunately Aly and the girls were stuck in this traffic jam too coming back from the salon. I wish I would have seen this but all the girls grabbed their belongings and ran through downtown Detroit to the Ren Cen! That is a story she will be telling for years.

After that little bump everything was right back on track : )

The ceremony. Music provided by The Panache Group. It's always a pleasure to work with them!

The decor was simple and elegant. I loved the pop of color from the flowers.
